Manaslu Region Trek is one of the finest regions to travel in Nepal. Situated east of the Annapurna region, the Manaslu region is a restricted region, unlike Annapurna, which borders Tibet to the north. Manaslu region holds the glory of having the eighth-highest mountain in the world – Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), with secluded and unspoiled natural splendor around. This region is mostly travelled by those who would love to explore something other than the same old crowded routes. Though the region gets fewer visitors compared to the Annapurna, Everest, and Langtang regions, it is very rich in terms of mountain views and spectacular landscapes. The fact that the region is only attempted by the enthusiastic travellers who do not care about the off-beaten and secluded area adds to the features of this region. The trail to the Manaslu region trek goes through the Manaslu Conservation Area. The conservation area is home to diverse species of flora and fauna found in that climatic region. As you walk through the region, you’ll find diversity in terms of climate, vegetation, culture, floras and fauna.
Apart from natural fantasies, the cultural richness is also another aspect of this region. Tibetan Buddhist culture is mostly prevalent here, and the region is inhabited by the people of Gurung, Limbu, Rai, and Magar communities. Each community has its own unique culture, custom and dialects, but the religion commonly practiced is Buddhism. The resemblance of Tibetan Buddhism can be seen in the stupas and gompas that you come across on the way. Likewise, the route is adorned with mani stones, chortens, and prayer flags, which reflect the Buddhist religion prevalent here. The people living in this area are simple and practice a traditional lifestyle. They are engaged in agriculture and animal rearing for a livelihood.
Manaslu Region Trek offers a wide range of trekking options. You can either opt for the Manaslu Circuit Trek, or you can opt for Manaslu with the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Similarly, the Tsum Valley Trek and the Tsum Valley with Manaslu Trek can also be a wise option! The hidden valley of Tsum is considered a valuable jewel of Nepal. The valley is wild and offers the best views of the mountains in its wild attire. Similarly, the valley has some ancient monasteries and caves that have a history of a century.
