Trip Overview

The ultimate high-end trek would be a sixteen-day trek from Kathmandu to EBC. It reaches its peak on Everest, which sits at 8,848 meters above sea level, and where the summit location is along the international Nepal-China border. It is also called Sagarmatha, one of the most sought-after trekking locations and one of the greats of the Nepalese Himalaya.

EBC Luxury Trek is an approach to luxury trekking combining the walk on the legendary Everest Base Camp trail with the pampering of luxury lodges, personal service, and a helicopter return flight to Kathmandu. You’ll be trekking through several traditional Sherpa villages, pine-forested trails, and dramatic mountain landscapes, all while staying in the finest accommodations available in the Khumbu region—including Yeti Mountain Home and Everest Summit Lodge.

Every day on the trekking path, you'll have a view of great Himalayan ranges, like Mount Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Ama Dablam (6,812 m), and Nuptse (7,861 m). You will say that it is the world's best trekking path/destination. The path takes you to Namche Bazaar, a busy market in the Khumbu. Passes t

The trek concludes with an excursion to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) and an early morning trek to Kalapatthar (5,545 m) for 360-degree views of Everest's summit—a dream experience.

Good to Know

Why Trek EBC Luxury Trek?

The Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek gives the perfect blend of Himalayan views and comfort and peaceful accommodation on the trek. That is why EBC Luxury Trek gives the best alternative to trekkers who want to see the breathtaking view of the Himalayas without compromising on comfort. The trek gives luxury stays, gourmet meals, one-on-one attention, and a helicopter return.

You’ll be staying at luxury lodges in Khumbu, such as Yeti Mountain Home, with private rooms, hot showers, a variety of food, and heated beds. You’ll be getting a highly experienced guide and porter who makes your trek in Nepal even more comfortable and memorable.

This journey is ideal for families, couples, and first-time climbers seeking a well-balanced, secure, and luxurious Everest experience. Blending high-altitude adventure, Sherpa heritage, and five-star amenities, the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek offers a once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan expedition tailored to comfort-seeking explorers.

Best Season to Trek

Spring (March–May)

Spring is the ideal season for trekking in EBC. The weather is calm, the temperature is mild, and the trails are covered with wildflowers and rhododendrons in blooming stage. There is no obstruction with great views and amazing landscapes of Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse, and there are good lodges with good services.

Autumn (late September–November)

Autumn is the most suitable and popular season for trekking. The monsoon washed away the dust from the air, the scenery is crystal clear, and the air is dry and crisp. The weather is perfect for trekking, and cultural festivals like Dashain and Tihar add colorful life to the region. It's also the best time for helicopter returns, with the most stable conditions for flying.

Both seasons provide the best weather, scenery, and lodges and are the ideal time for a luxury Everest trekking adventure. While winter and monsoon treks can be completed, they are avoided by all except experienced trekkers and people who like fewer facilities.

Trekking Difficulty

The Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek is a moderate to difficult trek within the capability of active trekkers but does not involve technical ascents. It is mostly difficult due to the altitude and distance of the trek, and not so much the terrain.

You will hike 10–12 days, 5–7 hours a day, easy ups and downs on well-trodden trails. The highest altitude is Kalapatthar at 5,545 meters (18,192 ft), and there needs to be acclimatization to prevent altitude sickness. A luxury holiday has been planned with two acclimatization days and an easy gradual walk to allow your body to acclimatize to altitude.

Comfy beds, nutritious food, porter support, and the option for a helicopter drop at Gorekshep or Lukla remove physical fatigue and strain. With experienced guides monitoring your health and your progress, and decent logistics organized en route, the trek can be done and enjoyed by even beginners who are moderately healthy and fit.

Food and Accommodation on Trek

Accommodation

You’ll be staying at a well-maintained luxury lodge during the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek. Each lodge where you’re staying offers a private room, bathrooms, and a comfortable bed with a heater. You’ll get a hot shower and a charging point to charge your phone and other devices. Rooms are clean and often come with electric blankets, and if the weather is clear, you might get a clear view of the surroundings from your room’s window. At higher altitudes where luxury lodges are limited, you’ll still stay in the best available lodges, selected for comfort, cleanliness, and service quality.

Foods

Food on the expensive EBC trek is abundant and healthy, and the food is a mix of Nepali and global cuisine. Three hot meals a day include, among other things, opulent breakfasts such as pancakes, eggs, porridge, or Tibetan bread; passable lunches such as fried rice, pasta, or noodles; and nutritious dinners with soup, curries, and vegetable stir-fries. Both lunch and supper are à la carte with fresh seasonal fruit and cleaner than normal teahouse facilities in upmarket lodges.

Special diets (veggie, vegan, gluten-free) can be supported with prior notice. Filtered drinking water, hot beverages, and herbal teas are also included on the trek.

Required Permits

Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit

The Sagarmatha National Park Permit for USD 25 (or NPR 3,000) provides entry to the protected zone of the Everest region, containing diverse wildlife, alpine forest, glaciers, and the unusual Himalayan mountains.

Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit

The Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Permit, NPR 2,000 (which is equal to USD 17), is a rural municipality permit that is used by the rural municipality for the management of infrastructure and tourists in the Khumbu region.

TIMS

The TIMS card is not needed on the Everest Base Camp trek compared to other treks in Nepal. These permits can be obtained in Kathmandu or at Lukla and Monjo checkpoints and are packaged by most trusted trekking companies. Trekkers should carry printed permits throughout the trip since these are verified at various points en route.

  • An unforgettable journey to ABC

I joined Wildman's tour to Nepal for ABC trekking at the end of March, and during the trekking we were taken well care of by Nepal Intrepid Treks and Expedition. The local guides are professional, friendly and always know what we need before we ask for help, and the porters are honest and reliable. I believe that without their hard work, it is impossible for me to complete this amazing journey. A month has passed, the towering mountains, the blooming azaleas and the guides and porters’ dedication to their work are still vivid in my memory and it seems like only yesterday. Highly recommended!
