Unforgettable solo trek in Nepal

I did the Mardi Himal trek with Nepal Intrepid Treks as a solo hiker in November 2019. I learned that I would be traveling in the region on business only a few weeks in advance, and after some research I reached out to Lal for help in customizing an add-on personal trip that worked for my tight schedule and my desire to do a beautiful and challenging trek in the iconic Annapurna region. Mardi Himal was the perfect trek:
- It offered epic views of Annapurna South and Fishtail nearly the entire time, getting closer and closer each day until High Camp and Base Camp when you’re right in between them and it feels like you can reach out and touch them!
- It offered a good balance of physically demanding sections and relatively easy sections, as well as spots to catch your breath, have some masala tea and take in the scenery.
- It offered great elevation gains, so that you can experience firsthand the way the environment, weather, and level of exertion changes as you climb higher and higher.
- The trekking camps were comfortable and the meals were very good. The people who ran the camps as well as the other guides and trekkers were lovely.

Lal put together my entire itinerary, including a couple nights in nice hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, and a yoga class at a beautiful retreat outside Pokhara. He ensured that every detail was covered during my stay, and he was in touch throughout to make sure everything was going smoothly. As an experienced hiker and marathon runner we were able to shorten the trek to 5 days by combining some days for greater distance each day; this was great for me both for the level of difficulty I was seeking as well as my tight schedule. My guide Nisan and my porter Prabin were skilled, knowledgeable, professional, extremely helpful and attentive, and fun to be around (not to mention they were great sports about the fast pace).

I’m beyond thrilled with the experience and the service level of Nepal Intrepid Treks. I will definitely come back for a longer trek, and I recommend them to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience in the Himalayas. It was an amazing trek lead by Kumar and Nissan with two other excellent guides (Hem and Probin) and a team of professional porters. They made our trip pleasant and memorable. I would really like to hike with this group for my next Nepal trip!

We visited Nepal in December and had only 7 days, not long enough for multi-day treks yet, as travelers from the US, we wanted to experience as much as possible within that time frame the comprised of visiting the breath-taking mountain sceneries, sport activities, and history. It's really best value and service everything was perfect. 

While Nepal Intrepid Treks was started by trekking guides, they have diligently built their business and tourism relationships over the last few years to cater to different tourist needs. As an active planner, i had reached out to a dozen tour companies as opposed to only settling for the top 2-3 on Tripadvisor ratings. What first impressed me about Nepal Intrepid is their responsiveness, flexibility and transparency about planning constraints. They also offered the best value by a large margin.

At no time during my interactions with them did they push any additional services on me, but rather adapted to whatever changes i wished to make. Given the relationships they made in the industry, they also offered some of the best rates relative to other tour companies for the exact same vendors. We did the heli ride to Everest Base Camp, hikes in Nagarkot, paragliding, city tours in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Pokhara and of course the sunrise trips to the neighboring hill stations. What really made the difference is their sense of service on the ground. They were always on time and went the extra mile whenever there were unexpected delays. On one day, our morning flight to Pokhara was delayed for several hours and eventually canceled yet our guide went above and beyond to get us on an afternoon flight so we wouldnt miss out on the activities for the rest of the day. That sense of urgency on our behalf extended through the whole trip. Even though we missed an activity for no fault of theirs, they did their part in making up for it by dining us at a cultural center on their own cost, which wasnt needed at all yet we fully appreciated.

In summary, I was thoroughly impressed -- A sense of humility, superior service, flexibility, transparency with unmatched value. We know we will definitely return to Nepal for the treks; we will look no further than Nepal Intrepid Treks. A big thank you Nisan, Santa and Lal! Keep it up!

Amazing experience Trekking the Annapurna Circuit

This was my second time to trekking in Nepal, In earlier we did Everest Base Camp with Lal and also to the Ghorepani Poonhill. It was the best memory ever in my life so far. This time we have just completed the Annapurna Circuit Trek, had the most incredible experience and Amazing experience Trekking the Annapurna Circuit of our life. From the moment we were picked up from the airport and dropped back off we were looked after by Lal and his wonderful professional team. Our guide Ganga and porter Purna were incredibly attentive, friendly, supportive, professional and just wonderful to spend time with.

This company prides themselves on brilliant customer service and safety and we could not recommend a better company. Will absolutely be back! Thank you Lal and team. Everest Base Camp the Dream Trip of my Life!

Thank you so much for arranging our trip to Everest Base Camp that I dreamed for many years to put my feet. You guys are really great and professional team with big heart and very helpful in everyway. 

Kamal, Tilak and Prince were our guide during the Everest Base Camp. They have done an excellent job in ensuring we had everything we needed - water, wifi, food and so on. They explained Nepalese culture and identified the peaks for us as we were asking for the names every day, it is one of the most precious thing about having the locals with us. The tour was a huge success and thank you guys and team for making it happen, it would not be the same without you. We enjoyed the trip to EBC and we are already thinking about to come again to Nepal with them.
